Northbrook District 28 has been recognized for the 10th straight year by the NAMM Foundation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education. Northbrook District 28 is one of 29 school districts recognized in the state of Illinois this year, out of a total of 850 school districts across the country.

Twenty-three Northbrook Junior High Independent Science Research students brought home 22 gold awards and one silver award from the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Fair held May 2-3 in Champaign at the University of Illinois.

The Northbrook Junior High ISR Science students proved they have the right stuff by earning first place at the Region 6 Division C Illinois Junior Academy of Science regional competition on Saturday, March 8 at Wheeling High School. NBJH received the most gold awards of any school at the fair for the second year in a row, earning them the Division C trophy.

Sixth-graders returned to class a little more at ease about junior high and with a few new friends after participating in Northbrook Junior High’s Outdoor Education program at Camp Timber Lee Sept. 25-27.
The experience is intended to help the students build community in a junior high where three elementary schools come together.
