Northbrook Junior High offers a full-service cafeteria.  Prior to the start of school, NBJH parents received an email from our Total  Access K12 lunch management system with family account information and details about adding money to your family lunch account.   

There are two options for purchasing lunch.    

THE CHEF'S SPECIAL - LINE # 1:

The Chef's Special is a plated meal of the day that is featured on the lunch menu that is posted monthly.  The cost for this lunch is $4.00 and includes a menu item, sides, and a drink choice.  Your drink choices are:  8oz water bottle, milk (white or chocolate) or a small juice box.  (flavor selections may vary) 

Á LA CARTE LINE # 2:

 The Á La Carte line offers rotating drinks, snacks and hot & cold menu items each day. View the Ala Carte Menu.

Adding money to your Family Lunch Account:

Parents can either load money online onto their student's family account on the online District Web-Store or students can bring in cash or a check payable to District 28 to turn in at the NBJH office. There is a $1.50 fee each time money is loaded electronically.  Use the District 28 web store online payment guide for assistance in adding money to your family lunch account.  

To add money to your student lunch account Visit District Web-Store, Click 'shop' and click 'food service' or click the food service block, and enter your email and password and follow the prompts. Need Assistance?  Use the District 28 Web Store Online Payment Guide.

Create An Account

If you are new to this system, you will need to create an account after you receive  your username and password prior to the start of school.  To create an account, Visit District Web Store, and select CREATE NEW ACCOUNT. You can then enter your personalized username and password. If you have any questions about your account or you don't know your username and password, please contact Mrs. Gail or Mrs. Schwartz at the NBJH School office to assist you.   

Managing your Family Account

Total Access web-site offer features for you to manage your lunch preference for your child(ren).  Log in using the username/family ID and password emailed to you at the start of the school year. 

Here you can:

  • Check your account balance for your family account
  • Food purchase history for each child 
  • Deposit history for your family
  • Set low balance notification
  • Change your assigned password 
  • Link to make a payment on the District Web Store

Student Lunch Balances

All lunch accounts must be in good standing. 

When a student account is negative, students will only be offered the chef special meal of the day with a drink, which will be charged to the family account.  Ala carte items cannot be charged to an account with a negative balance. 

When an account has a negative balance the NBJH office will contact the parent/guardian to encourage that the account is brought up to date or send a lunch.

Electronic balance letters are sent via email daily.  Families should set a custom low balance notification on the Total Access System.

Free and Reduced Lunch

Parents in need of financial support can apply for free and reduced lunch. Qualifications are based on income.
