Meet the Principal
Dr. Scott Meek has served as the Principal of Northbrook Junior High since the 2007-2008 school year. Before joining District 28, he worked at Northwood Middle School in North Shore District 112. He began his career in education as a Special Education Teacher.
"It has been an honor and a privilege to work at NBJH and be a part of the D28 community for the past two decades. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such an incredible group of students, staff, and parents." - Dr. Scott Meek
Dr. Meek earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University in Ohio. He also earned a master's degree in Curriculum and Instructional and Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University and a doctorate in Education from National Louis University.
An avid sports fan, Dr. Meek enjoys watching a college or pro sports game on TV. He says his days of playing hoops are behind him, so he is relegated to playing bad golf when the weather is nice. He also enjoys exercising a few times a week, spending time with family and friends, playing cards, games, and listening to music.
His favorite children's book is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. He also enjoys "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton, "The Book of Three" by Lloyd Alexander, and the classic, "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury.
